What Fawna saves
Fawna belongs to parents. Accounts are for parents only; there is no child login. Here is exactly what is kept for each child, why, and how to erase all of it.
What is saved for each child
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| A nickname and a school year | So questions come out at the right level. We never ask for a full name, a school or a class. |
| The text read off each worksheet | What Fawna read, and the result you confirmed or corrected for each question. |
| Practice questions and answers | The questions Fawna wrote, and how each one went, so the same skill can come back at the right time. |
| Word lists | The words on each sheet, their meanings, and how practice on them went. |
| The revisit plan | Which skills and words are due to come back, and when. |
| Optional settings | Age, simpler wording, difficulty, and reminders, if you set them. You can change or clear them any time. |
What is sent to an AI service
To read a photo of a marked worksheet or a word sheet, the photo itself is sent to an AI service (Claude, by Anthropic) with an instruction to read the questions, your child's answers and the teacher's marks, and nothing else. What comes back is the text and a suggested mark for each question. The photo is never used to train a model, and you confirm or correct every reading before anything reaches your child.
When photos are deleted
Photos of worksheets and word sheets are deleted from storage the moment a check finishes, and in every case within 30 days of upload. The text read from them is kept, so the record survives the photo. Deleting a child deletes every photo still held, straight away.
How to erase everything
Each child's settings page has one button: “Delete this child and everything saved”. You type the nickname to confirm, and Fawna removes the worksheets, the photos, the word lists, the practice history and the revisit plan for that child. It cannot be undone. Deleting your account (Dashboard, Settings) removes your children and everything saved with them too.
Worksheets and copyright
Worksheets that come home are usually the school's or a publisher's. Fawna is private family use only: nothing is shared, there is no public or shared worksheet library, and the practice questions Fawna writes are original and never copy the uploaded sheet. Takedown requests: support@joinspelt.com.
Practice, not an assessment
Fawna is practice, not an assessment. It cannot tell you why a mistake happened or whether your child needs extra support. If you are worried, speak to the school.
